Active Dynamic Warm-Up: 6 Exercises Your Warm Up is Missing

corporate training Jul 30, 2019

At Parisi Speed School, you get more than just a regular training session; you get a total training experience from the second your session starts until the second it ends.

Parisi Coaches understand that a good start equals a strong finish. Beginning warm-up drills & starter exercises will set the tone for the rest of your training session.

Luckily, when training at Parisi Speed School, you will never find yourself starting your training session feeling unprepared, uninterested or unmotivated.

The Active Dynamic Warm-Up (ADW) ensures a positive start to every training session. It’s designed to loosen up our athletes, stretch those muscles, prepare the athlete’s body and focus their mind.

The Importance of the Active Dynamic Warm-Up

Parisi Active Dynamic Warm-Up is the First Quarter of the Four-Quarter training progression that athletes go through during their Parisi sessions.

Let’s take a look into why this Active Dynamic Warm-Up is so important and valuable for successful training…

  • Active Dynamic Warm-Up serves as an “opening ritual”
    • It allows trainers, athletes and everyone involved to get to know each other and feel comfortable.
    • Athletes have a safe space to talk about their day, how they are feeling, discuss any new injuries or pain, etc.
    • The opening ritual allows trainers and athletes to build rapport.
  • Active Dynamic Warm- Up is an assessment tool
    • It gives trainers a chance to observe each athlete’s movement.
    • ADW allows for trainers to notice movement patterns that need to be corrected.
    • Breaks bad movement / exercise habits before they become a routine.
  • Active Dynamic Warm-Up lays the foundation for the rest of the workout.
    • Prepares the body for exercises that are used during training.
    • The mix of stationary and movement exercises offer a dynamic warm-up that increases an athlete’s core body temperature, and blood flow.
    • This dynamic warm-up ensures athletes are ready for their intense and effective Parisi training session.
    • Ground-based calisthenics keeps athletes moving during the entire warm-up session.

Now that you understand the importance of the Active Dynamic Warm-Up, let’s take a look at just a few of the movements and exercises that make up this dynamic warm-up.

A Look Inside the Active Dynamic Warm-Up

As we said earlier, the Active Dynamic Warm-Up is made up of both stationary and movement exercises along with other ground-based calisthenics.

A Warm-Up, Wrap Up

The Active Dynamic Warm-Up allows for athletes and trainers to talk about their day, shine light on any new injuries and continue to build that oh so important bond and trust between trainer and athlete.

During this time trainers have a chance to assess athletes and pick up on any red flags or incorrect movements and fix them before they become part of the athletes training routine.

The dynamic warm-up keeps athletes moving throughout the entire warm-up session, waking their muscles up and getting them ready to train. This readiness to train prevents injury and sets a positive tone for the remainder of the session.

At Parisi Speed School, we are dedicated to giving athletes the most cutting-edge, effective and results-driven training, and that starts with the Active Dynamic Warm-Up.
